After a bit of work and listening to our users feedback we've revisited the chat toolbar feature. It now works in a more familiar facebook way, removing the need for horrible pop up windows.

In addition to this we have enabled a few extra features in the private chat. You can now play games, send files and use a white board to draw.

We have also integrated our chatrooms into the footer bar, meaning you dont have to go far to get in contact with people.

The footer bar doesnt currently support webcam, although this is a feature we are working on, in the meantime we have kept the old chatrooms and renamed it webcam chat.

Just carried out a version change on the chatrooms and chat bar. The most notable change will be the appearance and functionality of the chat bar that now has a few quick link icons to areas of the site we think you use the most.

Also new invites to chat should appear in the footer bar instead of a popup window as in previous versions, hopefully you find this more user friendly.

Its been a while since the last blog entry, apologies. We are making tracks on a couple of new exciting features at the moment and hopefully I will be able to make an announcement after the summer with some news.

Took a fair few weeks but i finally finished the Official pages and social feeds. What are they i hear you ask? Well the official pages are for companies like bars, clubs, restaurants, societies etc to have their own cockbook page, the page allows them to post events, news and other worthwhile information.

Members can then subscribe to these pages and get up to the minute news and events direct to their social feed, you will never miss a party again!!!

What next, well I think its time we went mobile.... iPhone mobile, watch this space!!!

We should be back to most people now, just a case of the internet synchronising with our changes. Hopefully you survived without us, we may be taking the server down again this week or next as we might but a bit more memory in the server. It will only be a 30 min max job though.

For a while now we have been looking for ways to increase network capacity to give users a faster site. We have finally found a suitable network to install the site on and so we need to move the server to a new location.

We will need to take the server down on Thursday evening in order to make the necessary configurations for the server to sit in its new home. We will then be installing the server the following day. Due to the way the internet addressing works the site might not appear for some people until Sunday, so to be safe we are advising it should be back on Monday.

Hopefully you will notice a marked improvement in the sites speed. We are then planning to begin our initial marketing.

It has been a while since I made a posting but fear not we have been busy! We are currently working on the advertising side of things and will be announcing a few new features in the coming weeks.

I just wanted to let people know we are aware that you are finding the site slow at times, to improve this we have just signed a deal with a new network provider and will be migrating the site within the next few weeks, this may mean a couple of days of no cockbook as the site is moved over but I will be posting a notice as soon as dates are confirmed.

I'm please to announce the release of G-eospot version 2.0. I've completely rebuilt the application from the ground up and the performance is much improved.

The application doesnt cover the whole globe at present mainly due to Google map constraints and the underlying technology. As time goes on I will add more coverage so everyone can be included.
