New G-eoSpot feature
by terry Thursday, 31 July, 2008 at 04:45
I'm still plugging away on the site, I'm having to drawn a line in the sand and stop developing new features in order to meet the deadline we've set ourselves for launch.
With that in mind this is porbably the last additional feature I'll be making pre launch. All the other ideas will have to wait, while I test and polish the existing ones! We are still looking for testers, email me terry.oleary@cockbook.co.uk for more.
Anyway back to the latest incarnation. I've developed a GoogleMap Application that plots peoples location anywhere in the world, it plots peoples location to the closest postal area for privacy but i still think it is a worthwhile addition to the site to find people close to you.... I've aptly named it G-eoSpot. I hope to see a few of you popping up on it!!

Logo finalised
by terry Wednesday, 23 July, 2008 at 10:10
I think I've finalised the look of the logo, I decided to remove the regonality aspect just shortening the logo to Cockbook.
I might well revisit the regional versions later on, lets wait and see. I'm maintained the rollover and as a basic logo I'll keep the boxershort version, mainly for displaying to the public.
Lets see how long till this logo changes.....

I have been pluging away at some behind the scenes features mainly for admin purposes so nothing to report out front.
I have had a few ideas for profiles and user features that I am going to be looking into in a few weeks (money permitting). For now I think I am on the home stretch in terms of site launch.
I have a few more behind the scenes things to do and some refinement of the site, I hope to have the site open for ALPHA testing within 6 weeks, fingers crossed, should anyone be reading this yet then I'm keen to get some testers, email me at terry.oleary@gmail.com if you are interested.

Invite a friend feature added
by terry Monday, 14 July, 2008 at 09:56
Today I finished the invite a friend feature. This feature is quite standard these days on most social sites, allowing you to look up friends on all the various messenger systems you're using.
I did um and argh over whether this feature would be worthwhile on the site, but i guess there would be a use for it especially knowing people who use their messenger system for more than chat!
We don't record any of the information generated from the lookup so your friends won't be contacted by use directly.

Your feedback is always welcome.
Site coming soon!

I came up with the idea for Cockbook back in December 2007. I decided
that there could be room for a different type of gay site, that created
a bit more of a community.
I've been steadily building the site in my spare time trying to get it into a position to launch to the public. I've just finished this blog feature and so will continue to use this feature to document the continued progression of the site.
After launch I will be using this feature to let users know what features we are building and the ideas we have for the future of the site.

Thanks for reading.
